YU4C Ministries is a department of NLCC (New Life Covenant Centre) and is comprised of three   ministries.  Kids 4 Christ (K4C) focusing on children ages 4-12, Unplugged ages 13-19 and Young Adult Network (YAN) age 20 to 25.

Scripture:   1 Timothy 4:12
King James Version (KJV)12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

YU4C Ministries are involved in a range of programs such as Junior and Teen Talent, YWEA (youth world evangelism in Action),  VBS (Vacation Bible School),  Kidsonfest, Summer Camps, retreat, Winterfest,  Conferences  and Mission.  YU4C also works in collaboration with New Life Covenant Centre to provide the Youth and Young  Adult with opportunity to be involve in various areas of ministry which include, but not limited to Television Broadcasting, the Audio/visual Team, the Loving Kindness Ministry and assisting with K4C.    YU4C is dedicated to  aid in our students  development and fostering of workforce relevant skills such as the ability to work within a team environment as well as leadership, problem solving and communication skills.  Outside of working with the church, YU4C offers its different age groups with opportunities to relax and have fun by taking them on variety  excursions which include trips to Playdium, Canada’s wonderland, Laser Quest, overnight retreats, banquets as well as casual and formal meals, just to name a few.

Mission Statement:

YU4C  Ministries (Young-People  United for Christ)   aim  to raise up a generation of young people who are on fire for God and to help them  reach out to their generation with the powerful gospel of Jesus  Christ

Our purpose  for  YU4C Ministries is to empower  young people as world-changing disciples of Christ, to nurture faith development, and  equip future  leaders  by:

  • Developing  Children, Youth/Young  Adult spiritual leaders of local congregations to transform lives by making disciples of  Christ
  • Challenging  NLCC  to embrace, confirm, and celebrate God’s call on their lives as young people
  • Cultivating and nurturing life-given talent where influence and worth are not limited by age or experience
  • Advocating for the issues and concerns of young people in the church and their community
  • Empowering young people to work as agents of peace, justice and mercy; and
  • Building a network of support by  providing resources that connect the diverse experiences of our children, youth and young adults in local ministries and communities across our cities

jannetRev. Janet Page-Downer & Rae Downer
Rev. Janet currently serves at the New Life Covenant Centre as Youth & Children’s Pastor.  She has been married for 22 years and has 4 children.  She has been in youth Ministries for over 25 years and has obtained her ordain minister licence of the Church of God.

Janet has an unquenchable passion for young people and is determined to equip them for kingdom service. She draws on her varied background to reach out and share with youths. Her intimate knowledge of youth culture and optimism allows her to have a positive impact on the most jaded teen or cynical adult. She combines her knowledge of scripture with her experiences, mixes in drama, and the result is changed lives.

Unplugged   (age 13-19)
Scripture:  Romans 12 v 2:  Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  They you will learn to know God’s will for you, which  is good and pleasing and perfect.

Mission:  To develop strong, Christian youth who are grounded in the knowledge of Christ by unplugged them, from the destructive devises of this world and plug them into the source of all things-Christ Jesus.
Objective:

  • To teach our Youth the necessity of unplugging from the negative influences of this world, and the urgency of plugging into Christ
  • Providing practical was of focusing on the Godly behaviour
  • By renewing their minds in the Word of God so their behaviour will follow suit

Purpose:
Our purpose is to provide the necessary tools and opportunity to the youth to draw them into active, responsible participation in life, missions, and work of the faith within their community and the greater church.

How:
We are committed to spiritually train and equip Leaders/Worker  and youth in a fun and spirit-charged atmosphere where they can reach their full God potential.

 

nicoleNicole Lowe
Nicole Lowe serves as Children’s Ministry Director at New Life Covenant Centre. Kids 4 Christ (K4C) was established under her ministry leadership.

She has been teaching since her teenage years, receiving mentorship and guidance from several children leaders within and outside the church body.

Nicole has enrolled in and completed Lay Leadership 1 & 2, with a focus on teaching. She has also taken courses, such as Positive Caregiving and Classroom Management.

Nicole has a love and passion for all kids, believing that each child has the innate ability to become amazing leaders and citizens, having great impact to transform our world.
